2026 Autumn planting day
Bush Cone and the Waikawa River (1929)The Waikawa Community Nursery organisers are pleased to invite people to our inaugeral planting day this autumn at ‘Gowai Corner’ on the banks of the Waikawa River where it flows past Bush Cone farm. We will be planting trees raised over the last year by our nursery volunteers. Please feel free to come along and celebrate with us and lend a hand planting.
When: 15 March, 1 - 4 pm
Where: Bush Cone farm (access from Chaslands Highway east of the Chaslands bridge will be signposted on the day). The planting site is located approximately 1 km down the farm track. Parking near the planting site is a little steep and slippery so 4-wheel drive is recommended (or park in the paddock and carpool with someone else from the entrance gate).
What to bring: practical clothes for planting, gloves and drinking water. We will be on a working farm, so please do not bring dogs and supervise childen (the planting site is on a steep river bank above the river).
